Name: Taylor Fimbrez and Wesley Moon (plus pups Squid & Marbles)
Location: East Village — New York, New York
Size: 650 square feet
Years lived in: 5 years

Do you remember when you were little, and you'd go to a friend's house, and just want to spend hours looking at all their toys and their delightful stuff? If you can conjure up this feeling you can imagine a little bit of what it feels like to be in Taylor and Wes' apartment, where on every shelf and around every corner there is something new to discover. The way they've managed to jam all these lovely, interesting things into an apartment that's only 650 square feet is equal parts mysterious and inspiring.

Also inspiring: the fact that almost everything in the apartment came from a thrift store, eBay or Craigslist. It's proof that with a little patience, you can have a stylish home without ever paying full price.

And all the vintage pieces come together in a lovely way, giving this little apartment a feel that's both quirky and timeless.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

Our Style: Curated thrift store.

Inspiration: Old issues of NEST magazine. Required reading!!

Favorite Element: Textiles and lots of them!

Biggest Challenge: Crooked everything.

What Friends Say: Friends stopped saying anything, strangers really like it.

Biggest Embarrassment: The bathtub is an eyesore.

Proudest DIY: Lots! So much work into this place. I think the cut vinyl circles had the most impact in the bathroom. Made that ugly tea tile a lot more tolerable. People think it's actual tile. Other than that, new flooring in the kitchen, stripping kitchen windows, painting cupboards, removing doors. etc.

Biggest Indulgence: Rent.

Best Advice: You don’t need to spend a lot of money on good design. It's easily accessible if you know where to look. IKEA isn’t always the best answer.

Dream Sources: Wyeth/1st Dibs for Mario Botta chairs I want SO BAD!
