This ain't your momma's wood-paneled station wagon. Toyota's latest concept car is the Setsuna, a roadster with a chassis made of wood.
Setsuna, an electric car with a frame made of Japanese birch and exterior panels of Japanese cedar, is set to debut at I Saloni in Milan next month. There are no screws or nails holding the exterior to the frame; classic okuriari joinery is used.
The display is drivable up to 28 mph, but is not street legal; instead, Toyota hopes to use Setsuna to collect feedback potentially for future vehicles.
