Travel is the New Shopping: Indie Brand Parachute Launches a Hotel

When your product is mainly sold online, how do you counteract the inability for customers to touch and feel your goods? Parachute, maker of bedding and bath textiles, has created Parachute Hotel, an immersive experience in the form of a gorgeous penthouse situated above their Venice, California showroom.

The 2,200 square foot space was designed by Scott Horne and Peter Dolkas and outfitted with "like-minded vendors, makers and local friends of the brand," said Horne. (If you're coveting something in the penthouse, here's their full list of partners.)

Not only can you book a stay for your vacation (it sleeps up to four), but the penthouse is available for events, photoshoots, workshops, even dinner parties. "We wanted to create a space that would feel comfortable not only for a group of thirty, but for a couple looking to relax on vacation," said Ariel Kaye, Founder and CEO of Parachute.

Just a week ago, West Elm announced their boutique hotels will start opening in cities like Detroit and Savannah in 2018.
