I recently purchased a two-tier wire rack system for one of my two bottom kitchen cabinets (hi, fellow small kitchen haver here) and am now on a small kitchen storage solution kick. Some of these ideas have been around for ages, but for those of us who are just now tackling small kitchen solutions, here's a roundup of old, new and maybe new-to-you options for pot and pan storage.

As shown in the image above from Homedit, using wall-mounted pot racks is a practical and nice-looking solution when you're short on cabinet space.

Super clever DIY idea from Kitchn! Use a ladder and S hooks to store pans.

We regularly sing the praises of the IKEA RÅSKOG cart ($30) for it's versatility and style. The cart—which now comes in black and bronze—takes up very little space and allows for serious storage. Plus, it's on wheels!

Channel Julia Child* and use a pegboard (modernized with black chalkboard paint like the one above from Good Housekeeping) to create a nice looking wall-mounted storage solution. If chalkboard paint isn't your thing, I've seen pegboards painted to a lovely light blue, vibrant red and soft yellow, so think of it like a blank canvas and do what feels right to you.

This idea seen on Simple Bites is simply genius. Mount a pot lid organizer to the inside of a cabinet (or to the back of a door) to keep lids organized and neatly stored.

Use a metal rod and S hooks to store pots in front of a window—something I wouldn't have thought of but looks quite lovely and is highly functional.

I recently purchased this Rev-a-Shelf Pull-Out 2 Tier Wire Basket for my own small kitchen, and it's proven to be an efficient and stylish way to store all of my pots in one easy-to-access place.

I love Arianna Belle's combination here of wall mounted shelving and racks to create a storage area that can look as attractive as it is functional.

If you have an alcove or even a small amount of wall space, this solution of pot hooks hung on manufactured steel with a burnished finish looks beautiful and sturdy. (Image via Houzz)

*Fun fact: The late, great Julia Child used a pegboard storage system for her pots and pans...

Julia's husband Paul showed some serious DIY skills in the blue-painted pegboard he created for her cookware. A man before his time...
